Corrie – here’s who Ross Wilkes is after Cassie’s ominous cliffhanger

Coronation Street‘s latest episode ended with a cliffhanger that left Cassie Plummer reeling, but just who is Ross Wilkes and what has the ITV soap got in store for him and one Cobbles favourite?

Tonight’s instalment began with Cassie feeling bad about slapping Tracy Barlow the night before, on top of feeling deflated about Steve McDonald turning down her proposal.

Tyrone Dobbs insisted that the couple are made for each other, but she wonders why things keep going wrong for them if that’s the case. She admitted she loves him and feels like he must do too after forgiving her for everything she’s done, so she took Tyrone’s advice to go and give things another go.

However, she saw Steve helping Tracy out at the flower shop and, although Tracy was quick to let her know there’s nothing else going on, Cassie was furious.

“More fool me,” she hissed before walking off, holding back tears.

Feeling dejected, Cassie headed to Chariots hotel and decided to take advantage of the two-for-one spirits offer with some vodka cokes, necking her first one in seconds while saying: “Sod the lot of them.”

Back at the Barlow household, Tracy made a few digs to Steve about how it easy it was to split him and Cassie up. But that only prompted him to go and tell his other half that he does love her.

However, Cassie had caught the eye of a man at the bar and instantly started flirting with him, revelling in the attention and drinks.

She admitted she had the feeling they’d met somewhere before, but he said he’d definitely remember someone like her. “I’ve never seen anyone knock back vodkas that fast,” he said.

While she took that as a sign to take things up the bedroom for more drinks and a bit of fun, he chastised her before signing the bill and walking off.

As Cassie finished her drink, she looked at the cheque and was stunned to see the name: Ross Wilkes.

Ross is none other than Tyrone’s dad, and he’s in Weatherfield after talking with Ruby and Hope Stape online in order to reconnect with his son.

Cassie is dead set against the idea of them meeting, with upcoming scenes seeing her warn people about him. One of those people is none other than Tracy, who finds herself cosying up the Ross in the pub.
