As Jennifer Tries to Make Things Right, Johnny and Chanel’s Lives Are Turned Upside Down

Joy arrives with Kelsey for Alex’s daddy/daughter bonding time, a bit nervous about leaving Kelsey with Alex, but he insists he’s got it. When Joy finds out Stephanie’s in China, she makes a crack about fleeing to the other side of the world instead of spending time with her kid.

Alex assures her that’s not it, and Steph even got a present for Kelsey! (Yeah, that doesn’t mean a whole lot.) They’re all ready to go, but when Kelsey starts crying, both Alex and Joy think maybe she should stick around a bit. After some crying he can’t stop, and spit-up he can’t get off his shirt, Alex all but begs Joy not to leave him.

Will Leo Keep Cat’s Secret?

Chad and Leo are at an official Spectator meeting. At the Pub. (Don’t they have an office?) But Chad’s too busy being annoyed about EJ moving in on Cat. Thankfully Leo, thinking back to figuring out Cat’s ISA, steps in and tells Chad not to worry. He won’t say why, but Chad knows something’s up. Oops. Leo’s got a terrible poker face.

He does admit there might be something, but nothing definite yet and he has to run and bye!

Can Xander Actually Be Good?

Marlena finds both Xander and Sarah at the hospital, where he gives his ex crap about Brady until Marlena snaps at him. “In my office. Now.” She asks about his arm and gets an earful about sleeping with Kristen, then cuts through the bravado and BS and asks how sleeping with Kristen made Xander feel.

“Terrible,” he admits. They soon get to Xander saying he still wants what he’s always wanted: To be with Sarah. Cool. Insulting her isn’t the best strategy to make that happen, but sure thing, Xander. Marlena points that out, but then Leo barges in and the session’s over.

Is Chanel OK?

Chanel’s packing, determined not to stick around if Paulina isn’t. Their apartment is fit for occupancy, but Paulina refuses to move in with Chanel and Johnny. They have to cut the conversation short, though, when Sarah calls with Chanel’s biopsy results and suggests she grab Johnny to meet at the hospital.

EJ visits Johnny at work to get an earful about how much Paulina and Chanel’s lives have been overturned. Lexie’s return has just been piling stress on Chanel during her pregnancy. That’s when EJ warns him about Tony’s plans, which doesn’t much interest Johnny until he learns his uncle wants to replace him with Gabi.

But as with Paulina, the conversation’s cut short when Chanel texts and Johnny rushes out in a panic. At the hospital, Sarah rips the band-aid off: The mass is malignant and aggressive. And unfortunately, the treatment options could put the baby at risk. But, as she points out, Chanel needs to be healthy for the baby to be healthy. Sarah’s referred them to an oncologist and breast surgeon, so they’re in good hands.

Jennifer runs into Cat in the Square to do the most shocking thing ever: Apologize! She and Jack have been going to therapy (Finally!), and she wants to let go of the hostility and call a truce. Jennifer’s done horrible things and been shown grace for it, so she’d like to do the same.
