Days of Our Lives’ Paulina Will Do *Anything* to Help Chanel — and It Could Be the Biggest Mistake of Her Life!
EJ’s in a tough spot on Days of Our Lives and there’s no good way out. To be fair, it’s a spot he got himself into with his sheer hubris and greed, but that’s beside the point!
He can’t tell Paulina or anyone about Lexie’s condition, or he’ll be breaking a promise to her — and breaking a whole lot of hearts before they know whether or not her deterioration is reversible. Plus, he’d be forced to admit he screwed up and all his miracle work is for nothing. Heck, it could end up bankrupting him if it goes spectacularly wrong and leads to Gwen swiping the hospital from him!
But so long as he stonewalls Paulina and refuses to help his daughter-in-law and grandchild-to-be, he’s going to look particularly cold, heartless and greedy. And that’s going to infuriate Paulina. You can bet that this isn’t done. She will do anything for her baby, and that includes going toe to toe with EJ — and possibly even going behind his back!
Because if he doesn’t yield and doesn’t give Paulina a good answer as to why, we could see her finding some other way to get her hands on the drug. The problem is, it’s a false cure. If Chanel did take it, sure it might get rid of her cancer, but it would almost certainly lead to her death! It would be a desperate move, but Paulina’s already making it just by entertaining the possibility of giving her daughter a virtually unknown drug.
The good news is, we don’t see any reality where Chanel would agree to take the risk of an unknown drug unless she was certain it wouldn’t hurt her baby. And that would mean that, even if Paulina did manage to “liberate” some from EJ without him knowing and try giving it to her daughter, Chanel would likely send Johnny to his dad to find out if it was a risk she could take.
And at that point, EJ would have no choice but to come clean. He might swear Johnny to secrecy and have him tell Chanel that they aren’t sure of its safety during pregnancy, but once that secret goes beyond Lexie, Rolf and EJ, the truth is going to get out there.
Chanel will find out. Paulina will find out. And then she’ll be stuck sitting on a huge secret again. Tell Abe and Theo and go against Lexie’s wishes, and she’ll look like the jealous wife, looking to take down her rival. Sit on it, and she risks word getting out that she knew Lexie was dying and hid it from Abe and Theo.
EJ may be in a tough spot right now, but on a personal level, the man has about nothing to lose. Just about everyone already hates him already. Paulina, though, could end up losing the only hope she has to reconnect with her husband once this is all over and Lexie’s gone once again.
